Players create a customized squad mate for every combat situation. They earn experience points to be spent on combat upgrades called Powers. Save the galaxy as Commander Shepard and his squad mates.Just like the first iteration, Shepard and his squad mates level up throughout the course of the game. Saving the galaxy takes a lot of work, and an intense amount of action is in store for Shepard.
There is also a newly discovered species in known space, called the Collectors. In this addition to the Mass Effect series, Shepard returns to investigate a ravished colony and fight the Reapers. Two years have passed since the events of Shepard's last outing.
